Ah...Harvest Complete

I took these photos on the last day of the soybean harvest, October 11, 2010. What a nice view in my backyard! It is definitely a nice feeling to be done with 2010 harvest.

I would have posted these sooner, but I had an extremely busy week with school and also the arrival of our new herd. I took a few snap shots of them as well. What a nice group of cattle. They are very tame and settling in very nicely, even during the major power outage last night.

The power went out at 7:45 last night and didn't come back on before we finally settled in for the night. I am not sure how long the power was off, but to be safe, rather than sorry, we hooked up the generator so the electric fence and water supply would both be available to our newest members of the family. When we woke up this morning, we could see the yard lights were back on in the distance. Other than a few little outages now and then, that hasn't happened for many years! Luckily, the generator kept everybody safe and sound within the boundaries of their fence. Thanks to those men (and possibly women) who stayed up late last night to get the power back on.
